e-Shram Card
The e-Shram card is a free registration for unorganised workers such as labourers, domestic workers, street vendors, and gig and platform workers. It gives a 12 digit UAN and links you to government social security schemes.

How to apply
- Open eshram.gov.in and choose Register on e-Shram
- Enter your Aadhaar linked mobile number and OTP
- Complete Aadhaar e-KYC with OTP
- Fill in address, education, occupation and bank details
- Submit and download your e-Shram UAN card
- No Aadhaar linked mobile? Register with biometrics at a CSC or State Seva Kendra
Good to know
- Eligible if you work in the unorganised sector, are 16 or older, do not pay income tax and are not an EPFO or ESIC member
- Through e-Shram you can enrol in PMSBY for ₹2 lakh accident death or full disability cover and ₹1 lakh for partial disability
- You can also join PM-SYM pension for ₹3,000 a month after age 60, and find jobs on the NCS portal
- Registration is free everywhere, do not pay anyone for the e-Shram card

Who can apply for the e-Shram card?
Any unorganised worker aged 16 or above who is not an income tax payer and not an EPFO or ESIC member.
Does the e-Shram card give ₹2 lakh insurance?
e-Shram lets you enrol in PMSBY, which pays ₹2 lakh for accidental death or permanent disability and ₹1 lakh for partial disability.
Is there any fee for e-Shram registration?
No. It is completely free, online or at a CSC or State Seva Kendra.
