Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use the GovtLicense US guide.

Last updated Nov 7, 2026.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA on every US page.

What we do

  • Pages work with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines and a "Skip to main content" link.
  • Text and buttons meet AA color contrast, body text is at least 16 pixels on phones, and tap targets are at least 48 pixels.
  • Forms have labels and clear error messages, and status messages are announced to screen readers.
  • Animations turn off when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Every fact is in plain HTML and the pages work without JavaScript; the license finder is an extra layer.
  • Before a page goes live we run automated checks, including Lighthouse accessibility tests, at phone and desktop sizes.

Known limits

We link to government websites and forms, including PDF forms, that we do not control. Some of them may not be fully accessible. If one blocks you, tell us and we will try to point you to another official way to apply.

Report a problem

If something on our site is hard to use, contact us (choose "Ask a question") or email [email protected]. Tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 business days.
