Steps
- Open the e-Filing portal incometax.gov.in yourself and choose Instant e-PAN
- Choose Check Status or Download PAN and continue
- Enter your Aadhaar number on the official page only
- Enter the 6-digit OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile. It is valid for 15 minutes
- Click View e-PAN or Download e-PAN. It shows once the e-PAN has been generated
- Open the PDF with the password: your date of birth as DDMMYYYY

- Your Aadhaar number, if your PAN was issued through Aadhaar
- The mobile number linked to Aadhaar, to receive the OTP
- Your date of birth as it is on your PAN, for the PDF password

- The income tax portal describes the Instant e-PAN as free of cost.
- Download only from incometax.gov.in or from the official PAN service providers Protean and UTIITSL.
- Keep the PDF safe. It is a valid digitally signed PAN.

The password is your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format (the date of incorporation for a company or firm).
