No. GovtLicense is an independent information service. It is not run by, or affiliated with, any central, state or municipal government. We link to the official portals where you apply and pay.

No. Using GovtLicense is free, and we never collect government fees. Pay official fees only on the government portal or at the government office.

Each licence shows its source and a status. Checked means it was matched against an official document on the date shown. To confirm means the fee varies by office or we only have a secondary source. Always confirm on the portal before paying.

Delhi (MCD and NDMC areas), Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and other West Bengal towns, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, for 14 common businesses including restaurants, cloud kitchens, bakeries, grocery stores, pharmacies, salons, gyms, clinics, coaching centres, offices and online sellers.

Shared checklists carry the sender's name and verified contact details, so the person receiving it knows who sent it. Viewing checklists does not need an account.

Create an account with your email and a password, or use Continue with Google. You can log in with your email or username. If you forget your password, choose Forgot password? and we email you a reset link.

Mobile number login and verification by OTP are coming soon. Once available, you can add and verify your number in My Account, and it will appear as verified on checklists you share.

Yes. Set your role to CA or consultant in your profile. Checklists you share show your name and business, so clients know who prepared them.

Use Report a correction on any licence in the checklist, or the contact form. Include a link to the official source if you have one.

No. GovtLicense gives general information to help you prepare. For advice specific to your business, speak to a chartered accountant, company secretary or lawyer.
