Privacy notice for the professionals portal
Professionals and people who send an enquiry.
What we collect
From professionals: name, firm, registration number, State Bar Council, years of practice, courts and forums, cities, languages, services and prices, email, optional mobile number, optional photo, UPI ID or payment link, proof files, and login and two-step login records. From people who send an enquiry: name, city, service, a mobile number or an email, an optional note (not for sensitive matters), the language you prefer and the page you sent it from.
Why
Professionals' data is used to verify and list them and to send them enquiries. An enquirer's data is used only to send the request to up to 3 verified professionals, or to the one you chose, so they can contact you. We use it for nothing else and never sell it.
Who sees it
Proof files, email, mobile number and photo of a professional: that professional and our admin only. An enquiry: you, the professionals it was sent to, and our admin. Public pages show only the listing facts, and only for verified professionals. Every admin action, including opening a proof file, is written to an audit log.
Sensitive matters
For family, divorce, maintenance, custody and criminal matters, we ask only for your name, contact, city and category. Do not type case details. The request goes only to the professional you chose and is deleted after 90 days unless you become that professional's client.
Private feedback, notifications and your account
After a request is marked as taken up or closed we may email you a link to tell us privately how it went. Only our team sees the answer; it is never published and the professional does not see it. If you have a Govt License account you can see your requests and what each professional did with them, and you get notifications (and emails, which you can switch off) about them. If you send a request without an account, we keep your name and contact as a client record so our team can follow up a complaint; you can ask us to export or delete it.
Your consent
Professionals agree when they sign up. Enquirers tick a box before sending, and we keep a record of it. You can withdraw consent by deleting your profile or writing to us; withdrawing does not undo what already happened.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Professional profile, services and proof files | While the profile exists. Deleted when you delete it or your account. |
| A sensitive-matter enquiry | 90 days, unless you become the professional's client. |
| An enquiry that no professional could take | 30 days. |
| Other enquiries and the professionals' list of them | 12 months. |
| Consent records and the admin audit log | As a record of what was agreed and done. They hold no proof files. |
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, erase it, withdraw consent, name a nominee and complain. Professionals can edit or delete their data in the dashboard. Write to Piyush Chawla, Grievance Officer, [email protected]. We acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 15 days. See also the main Privacy Notice.
