Terms of Use for Clients
What the directory is, and what it is not.
A directory, not an adviser
GovtLicense is a directory. We don't give legal or tax advice or guarantee outcomes. Professionals are independent. Nothing on this site is advice for your situation.
Who is listed
We list professionals after checking a registration number and proof. We do not test the quality of their work. Listings are information only; GovtLicense does not recommend or endorse any professional. Listings appear in random order and nobody pays for position.
When you send a request
You choose a service and a city and agree that we may share your name, contact details and request with up to 3 verified professionals, or only with the professional you chose. They contact you. For sensitive matters (family, divorce, maintenance, custody, criminal) we ask only for a name, contact, city and category. Do not type case details into our forms.
Your dealings with a professional
You agree the scope and fee directly with the professional, ideally in writing, and you pay them directly. Govt License takes no fee, no share and holds no money. A professional's own terms and professional rules apply to your work with them. Ask for a written quote before you pay.
No guarantee
We do not guarantee that a professional will take your matter, reply in time or achieve any result. Professionals are independent and we are not responsible for their advice, work or fees.
Your data and account
See the Privacy notice for the professionals portal. If you have a Govt License account, you can see your own records there as the client features arrive.
Complaints
You can report a professional from their profile, or write to the Grievance Officer (Piyush Chawla, Grievance Officer, [email protected]). We acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 15 days. For a complaint about a Chartered Accountant, advocate or company secretary's conduct you can also approach their professional body.
Law
These terms follow Indian law.
