DGFT's lists we read: restricted imports (2019), prohibited imports (2019), export schedule (2021). Current policy: DGFT policy search. HS chapter details: Chapter 84: Machinery and mechanical appliances, Chapter 85: Electrical machinery and electronics, Chapter 87: Vehicles.
Trade agreement and certificate of origin
India-EU Free Trade Agreement (concluded, not yet in force). Concluded on 27 January 2026. It enters into force after both sides complete their legal procedures.
Until the agreement is in force, exports to Germany use the non-preferential certificate of origin (₹200). Garment and leather exporters should check with their councils (AEPC, CLE) on what German buyers ask for.
