Export Jewellery and Diamonds to UAE from India
Gems and jewellery have their own council. The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) covers cut and polished diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls and jewellery with gold, silver, platinum or palladium. The India-UAE CEPA is in force, so qualifying jewellery can carry a preferential certificate.

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) covers cut and polished diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls and jewellery with gold, silver, platinum or palladium. The India-UAE CEPA is in force, so qualifying jewellery can carry a preferential certificate.
In FY 2025-26, India's exports to UAE of jewellery and diamonds (HS 7113 and 7102) were US$ 8,380.1 million, which is 32.6% of India's total exports of the same products (US$ 25,720.9 million), according to TradeStat.

Policy check
No restriction on exporting jewellery appears in the lines of DGFT's 2021 export schedule that we read. Samples of goods in chapter 71 are free.

Trade agreement and certificate of origin
India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Signed 28 March 2022, in force from 1 May 2022.
Exports that qualify under the CEPA can carry a preferential certificate of origin (₹600) issued through trade.gov.in, so your UAE buyer can claim the CEPA duty concession. Other shipments use the non-preferential certificate (₹200).

Steps for this route
- Get your IEC from DGFT (IEC guide). Fee ₹500.
- Register your bank's AD code on ICEGATE (AD code guide).
- Join GJEPC and obtain the RCMC through the DGFT e-RCMC portal.
- Confirm the hallmarking and documentation your UAE buyer needs.
- Use the CEPA certificate of origin if the buyer will claim the concession.
- File the shipping bill on ICEGATE and keep the e-BRC after you are paid (export guide).
