What it is and who needs it

A trade licence is permission from your city to run a trade or business at your premises. In Ranchi it comes from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation.

Ranchi Municipal Corporation issues trade licences under section 455 of the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2011. Its application form names the documents. The fee schedule was not found on an official page.

• For hotels, lodges and restaurants: security report, drinking water report and the cook's fitness certificate
• NOC from the District Fire Service for dangerous trades
• ID proof of the trade owner
