Apply for a ration card in Uttarakhand online

  1. Open the RCMS public login linked on the NFSA page for Uttarakhand
  2. Fill in the application and upload the documents
  3. Keep the acknowledgement

Apply offline

  1. Urban areas: take the form free at the District Supply Office or download it from fcs.uk.gov.in. The clerk gives an acknowledgement and a Supply Inspector verifies the details
  2. Rural areas: the form goes to the Block Development Office, and the Gram Panchayat officer handles it

Documents to keep ready

  • Address proof such as a water, electricity or telephone bill
  • Rent receipt if you rent the house
  • Surrender certificate and the previous ration card when moving from another town or Gram Panchayat

Card types

NFSA cards. A ration card is valid for 5 years, and you have two months after expiry to renew before the entry is removed.

Under NFSA the state issues AAY and PHH cards (nfsa.gov.in).
