What matters on the Indian side
- Nepal is a landlocked partner; much of the trade moves by road. Keep the shipping bill, invoice and packing list ready and confirm the land customs station's procedure with your freight agent.
- Mineral fuels, iron and steel, machinery, vehicles and cereals lead exports to Nepal in the data. Exporters of rice and cereals register with APEDA; steel exporters take their RCMC from EEPC India.
- Animal and vegetable fats and oils lead imports from Nepal in the data. Food imports need FSSAI clearance, and you should check the product's import policy on DGFT.
