What it is and who must register

Shops and Establishments registration is a state law requirement for shops, offices, restaurants and similar places that employ people. In Goa it comes under the Goa, Daman and Diu Shops and Establishments Act, 1973.

Every shop, commercial establishment, restaurant, eating house, hotel and theatre must register, whatever its staff size. Hotels and restaurants pay the higher fee for their staff band.
